Snow Mode (and others) not working in the snow

We have an unusual amount of snow and cold in the PNW right now and I drove yesterday (about 50 miles total) and the car drove like a champ through the snow and ice. Today, after driving for about 2/4 of a mile, I start getting error messages: Forward Collision Warning not working, Blind Spot Collision Warning not working, Downhill assist out, ABS out, Traction Control out, and Snow Mode Not Available. I called the service center and was basically told - yep, nothing you can do. I can't see a single sensor that is covered with ice or snow. Is this really how this is supposed to work in the winter?

Have you checked the blackish rectangle in the center of the lower part of grill
That is the radar sensor and if iced over will show just what you are experiencing
